No it doesn’t. Are you high? It smells of abject fear of a precedent that these actions are ok and that Presidents can do this and walk away. No one cares about him, we care about our democracy.
The flip side of impeachment being a political question is that even though senators aren't bound to apply standards from criminal law, they may feel obliged to do so (for legitimate or political reasons.) The questions are distinct but not unrelated.
