I haven't really noticed much overlap in my own. Which skill sets do you think overlap?

I find the process of preparing to GM is pretty similar to preparing a lesson plan. Also the time management, sharing of the spotlight, reading player/student reactions, etc. have all felt very similar.

I just had to do a self-assessment for a COMM101 course and under previous experience I rated DMing as just behind 20 years of presenting at technical conferences and sales calls. (And both are harder online than they were pre-pandemic....)

Any chance that you ever do a post about your campaign on the blog? As an example of your tools for worldbuilding in action or just as a summary? As a DM, I feel like it would be interesting reading.

Interesting, I've always found TA session (math) prep way harder. I guess the problem is trying to DM a party containing munchins, min-maxers, and noobs simultaneously, something I would *never* want in a D&D party.

To be fair, I tent to make most of my own maps (via Campaign Cartographer) and I like to have visuals for NPCs and enemies (for which I use Heroforge's screenshot/photobooth functionality). And I've never DM'd using premade modules, so I have to set everything up.
