Did...did they play any of the other fallout games? The ones where the remains of the federal government - reduced to nothing more than jingoists and war profiteers hiding out as their country burned - is the true ultimate bad guy?
The Enclave has been the final villain in 2 out of 4 mainline numbered fallout games!

Fallout 1 literally opens with a clip of a GI executing a Canadian civilian. That is the first image in the entire franchise. I do think Bethesda hasn't been as effective about it as Black Isle and Obsidian, but you can't accuse Fallout, as a series, of being pro-America.
