This person has now blocked me on Facebook (we weren't even friends) and has a mutual friend of ours messaging me to explain and justify my uncollegial and rude tone (it wasn't, it was just direct and professional, I reread it and it's def not rude). AITA here?
Nope. If folks want to give talks and interviews for free, that's their business, but it is never wrong to request compensation and honestly that should be the normal expectation.
Yup. My mom is cross I turned down uncompensated talking head rolls in a documentary so she could see me on TV, but I don't work to make money for other people. I do volunteer for non-profits etc....
