I suspect he could have gotten such figures with a simple email to @SMH_Historians or @medievalguy . Instead he makes concrete statements about the existence or non-existence of programs which are simply not true (see the linked threads above)

For what it is worth, while correlation isn't causation, historical study of war is really only about 2,450 years old and while war hasn't gone away in that period, the total level of war-related violence does seem (on a per capita basis) to have declined.
