In any event, military history can hardly be expected, as a subfield of history, to survive the collapse of the discipline of history. If you want to save military history, don't complain to ivory tower academics. Tell your legislators to fund the humanities.

Has anyone come up with a cool acronym a la STEM? History Anthropology Theater, Humanities English History? “Hummies” riding on the “tendies” trend but for humanities.

There's HASS - Humanities, Arts and Social Science. But I think on some level, for the humanities to market themselves, they ought not imitate STEM too much in style. There's a reason Coca-Cola does not adopt Pepsi's marketing strategy, even when the latter works.
