I did my first ever livestream via YouTube for class today, and I thought it went OK for a first try! Lots to work on, but it feels good to try something new!
Why youtube over something like, say, zoom? I suppose a livestream is easier to view later (NCSU gives us a host to upload recorded zooms to, but not everywhere does, I bet).

Two upsides: 1. It’s not Zoom/Teams/WebEx. Feels more casual; it’s a platform students don’t associate with formality. 2. OBS makes switching between document camera, desktop, PowerPoint, etc so see less.

Downside: No live voice chat built in/no breakout rooms. But I’m not delivering a formal teaching session either. Thought I’d experiment!
