Nothing is real until it happens. Determination, not hope. But also: contact your representatives, both parties and shout. Even if removal fails (and it pretty clearly will), every vote in favor matters for the tone it sets.
Oh well of course I want it to *happen*. I'm talking specifically about whether McConnell would be right to calculate that his party can decisively rid themselves of Trump at this stage just by passing some legislation.
I think at this point, I suspect the calculation is 'open war is upon you, whether you would wish it or not.' Had the mob gotten to the Senate, I doubt they would have been any kinder to McConnell than any democrats; he was as much against overturning the election as they were.
