Impeachment isn't practical, unfortunately - the House and Senate rules of order demand a process that'd take more than two weeks, in practice. And changing the rules of order on the fly, just to move him out a bit faster, is a really dangerous precedent.
I would argue that the dangerous precedent is allowing a man to stay in office even for a day after he attempts to use the prestige and power of his office to overthrow the congress. There are times for exceptional measures; this is one of them.

IMO, he fell(barely) short of that line. He advocated a protest, but when that protest turned violent he condemned it(in the softest possible way). I already hated Trump, but even if I didn't, this would make him anathema to vote for. But I don't think it quite crosses the line.

If he'd straight-up egged them on after it went violent, I'd be okay with Pence et al removing him from office. There's a level of egging on, not much beyond that, where I'd be okay with a USSS agent "removing him from office".
