Is it just me, or are ancient historians wildly over represented in Classics public outreach efforts? It seems like looking at projects like @AncientWorldMag or @AncientSave that ancient historians are present to a far greater degree than our proportion in the field?
Rough and order-of-magnitude estimation is a standard tool in modeling the ancient world, e.g. in demography, economy, etc. I'm clear about my uncertainty and the source of my estimate - it follows the size of the US prof. associations, SCS is larger than AIA is larger than AAH.
