Is it just me, or are ancient historians wildly over represented in Classics public outreach efforts? It seems like looking at projects like @AncientWorldMag or @AncientSave that ancient historians are present to a far greater degree than our proportion in the field?

I don't have statistics to back this up, but my sense is that Classics as a field is probably around 40% philology, 35% archaeology and maybe 15% ancient history (with the rest epigraphy, paleography, papyrology, etc.)? Just going from conferences, etc.

I'm afraid I wasn't clear. Just because ancient historians are overrepresented doesn't mean archaeologists are underrepresented. There are other sub-disciplines in the field! In any event,
@DrMichaelJTayl1 , I think, made the point with better clarity:https://twitter.com/DrMichaelJTayl1/status/1344640612772048897 …
