This year especially, with funding cuts and the job market deep freeze, I think humanistic disciplines of all stripes need to be rethinking... 6/8

Before finding your blog, I had a pretty dim view of history as a discipline (based purely on school). Now, I'm firmly satisfied that it'd be worth doing for its own sake, even setting aside utility. It's… fun! and interesting! and you talk to people from the past! So thanks!
