On ACOUP, I think my favorite essay of the year was The Practical Case on Why We Need the Humanities (https://acoup.blog/2020/07/03/collections-the-practical-case-on-why-we-need-the-humanities/ …). This year especially, with funding cuts and the job market deep freeze, I think humanistic disciplines of all stripes need to be rethinking... 6/8

And that was 2020. I approach 2021, honestly, with high hopes, but low expectations - I think the wounds 2020 dealt to academia will be longer in healing than most seem to expect. But nowhere else to go but forward, so 2021, here we come! end/8
