Only someone who doesn't have a dissertation on file in a library would think it's fair to dredge up a dissertation and review it.
What is someone who hasn't written a dissertation missing about (I assume) Jill Biden's? Because on the face of it it seems weird to me that a physics dissertation would give someone more standing to criticize it than someone with decades of ed experience
Here I mostly meant the level of work that goes in to producing such a thing. But in practice, you are right - dissertations tend to be hyper-specialized and are often addressing questions inside of a discipline that won't be obvious to folks looking in from the outside.
I applaud you sir may my own dissertation (once written) also serve as an instrument of civility.
