I just face facts: the twin forces of practicality and exoticism means that all fantasy series will have that quilted leather pseudo-armor look from now till kingdom come.
Honestly, the quilted leather pseudo-armor bothers me less than the consistent tendency to reduce non-western cultures to 'barbaric' leathers when what they actually wore was colorful and wonderful and humanizing. Also, long, bright robes are not prohibitive costumes!

He became head of the wealthiest kingdom by threatening to kill royal advisors (not even the king).
I feel that almost nothing about Game of Thrones is as obvious as that Bronn was supposed to, and should have, died at the Battle of the Loot Train.
