I understood GPC not as a strategy, but a classification of the kind of competition. Less "Play-action pass" and more "We are now playing football, not basketball" - since an important first step towards developing a competitive strategy is clarifying the kind of competition.
Agreed. Certainly we need separate terms for competition with China vs. Russia. Very different challenges. What would be your preferred replacement terms?
