The silly thing is, given the wild diversity of Biden's coalition (everything from socialists to NeverTrump conservatives; every gender, race, economic group is there), it is more important than ever to get reporting on why they voted for Biden and what they want out of him.

YES. YES THIS. So many of the voters who voted Biden aren't Biden fans but did it anyway. THAT'S a story.

I suspect many journalists, because they come from the college-liberal bubble, think they understand the whole coalition. But I'd say that basically the entire primary and general election should disabuse them of that notion.

If Biden and his White House are going to try to hold that huge coalition together, they're going to need to understand the individual reasons each of those components went in for him. Because the reasons are very different, in many cases.
