I have not, by my doktorvater (read: dissertation advisor) is actually the leading expert on that very question! Check out: Richard Talbert, Rome's World: The Peutinger Map Reconsidered (2010) and Roman Portal Sundials (2017)
It may not *seem* like sundials are connected to mapping, but they are, because calibrating a portable sundial requires knowing your latitude.
