I want to note, for the record, that I did not plan my syllabus intending to teach 'The Collapse of the Roman Republic' the day before the election and 'Caesar and Octavian' the day after. But here we are. I'm sure this will be great for my state of mind.

I don't know...given everything the Pax Romana sounds like a pretty peaceful end to the week
We won't quite get there. The 'Collapse of the Republic' lecture runs from the Gracchi through Sulla. The 'Caesar and Octavian' lecture picks that up and runs down through Actium. The next week, the first class is 'Augustus' which covers the first and second settlements.
