In your initial retweet you didn't qualify the type of violent revolution you consider bad. Also, UK could hardly be called a foreign government, given it was the founder of the Colonies and most inhabitants came from it.
Well, if we're going to get into the weeds, the continental congress didn't 'yearn' for a violent revolution either. They tried quite hard to avoid it (e.g. the Olive Branch Petition). A significant part of the declaration is a summary of these efforts and their failures.

Well, of course everyone (or mostly everyone) would like to have a peaceful way to get to power. The violence usually comes from the side that doesn't want to relinquish the power. But it's still a violent revolution, regardless of who initiates the violence.
