I can think of no more obvious sign of the abject failure of the current administration than the reports of store-fronts in multiple major cities boarding up because they expect violence after the election. No minimally acceptable president would have brought us to this point.

A minimally acceptable president would not have refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power (https://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2020-54274115 …) threatened not to respect the results of the election (https://www.axios.com/trump-claim-election-victory-ballots-97eb12b9-5e35-402f-9ea3-0ccfb47f613f.html …) and so on, such that civil unrest was a reasonable fear.
I mean, I feel like the COVID death toll is a MORE obvious sign but this isn't a good one.
