Yes, and which is why I keep framing my work as "further reasons you should not assign WWoW to your undergrads." But then my reviewers object. I guess they have never tried to buy anyone a round of drinks at the SCS :P
The reviewers are absolutely wrong about that, I agree with you there. What you need to do is conspire to find one good Hellenist to actually do the rewrite of WWoW, as a sort of service-to-the-field so that you have something recent to fight with.

But no good Hellenist should be willing to do this. The point of my reviewers is that the field has moved on. Trying to rewrite old nonsense is no service to anyone.
