It would, except that, at least in my experience, that's not what you get if you buy a round of drinks at SCS/AIA. What you get is a lot of people who are deeply unconvinced, but have their own research projects and don't want to waste time rehashing an old debate.

I've heard variations on "I don't buy it, but there's no point in re-writing WWoW with revisions" more than once - often quite aware of the 'Hillsdale College' shade that would go with the effort. Which is why WWoW keeps getting assigned to undergrads, despite its deep flaws.

Yes, and which is why I keep framing my work as "further reasons you should not assign WWoW to your undergrads." But then my reviewers object. I guess they have never tried to buy anyone a round of drinks at the SCS :P
