Looking back, I mostly wish I had felt the confidence to warn my colleagues, instead of just quietly preparing for my own class and think I was probably being silly, since we weren't receiving any advice to even prepare for the eventuality.
I visited Thailand in late February and found it nearly empty of tourists, with signs everywhere saying (roughly), "Get well China." Somehow I still didn't expect the disease to cross the ocean. Maybe it was remembering SARS-CoV-1 from 2003, thinking, "Surely it'll be the same."
