This is an "academic review" one writes to share with friends over whiskey (or Gmail), not to publish in the most widely read open-access journal in classics.

Agreed, unless the BMCR intends to send me whiskey. This is an important book; imagine the difficulties of future grad students or specialists in other fields who need to rely on the review to know that. Reviews should be for informing, not peacocking, pardon my expression.
