Huh, in my time in Massachusetts, I always heard it as WUS-tuh or WUS-tur, rather than WIS-tuh. But then I was mostly out in western mass., so maybe that's a regionalism in a regionalism?

Quite possibly. My dad was born in Methuen and that’s how he and his family pronounce it.
