I really find myself wishing more game reviewers took just a brief break from discussing graphics and gameplay and features and just included in every review: "I think this game attempted to evoke <feeling1/feeling2...> and it <succeeded/failed>."
I should note: I think Frostpunk (on PC) is an amazing title. It is *very* good. Much like Dark Souls, it sells its grim packaging hard (and it is difficult!) because that's how it delivers the exhilaration of triumph in the face of real difficulty.

But in most of its modes, with enough planning and care, the 'save everyone, compromise as little as possible, be *better*' ending is possible and the game notices when you do it, which really sells the jewel of hope in the snowbank of despair.
