Also, the things they say - 'they have each other's backs and you can respect that' and 'but the galaxy in in chaos and there's no order' is exactly the framing that actual fascists use to present other actual fascists as sympathetic figures in order to do actual fascism.
I know I've got some Star Wars fans upset with me in my mentions, but honestly this is about the baldest example of just accepting a pro-fascist framing I have ever seen.
...I do feel like you can present a fascist character as a tragic one without crossing the line into fascist apologia- Javert, f'r example. Leery of saying that there's NO way to do a specific trope without Writing The Bad Thing. But this is... yeah, ick.
