So the 'How Did They Make It: Bread' blog series (latest here: https://acoup.blog/2020/09/04/collections-bread-how-did-they-make-it-addendum-rice/ …) has actually done pretty well. About the same views-per-post as the Sparta series. Not exactly what I expected. I used to use lecturing about farming as a joking threat...
...as in "everyone needs to do the reading and come to discussions prepared, or else I will use the dead air to begin lecturing on dry farming techniques. And no one wants that." Evidently, quite a lot of you guys actually wanted that. Good to know.
Suppose I'm going to need a new and different 'exemplary boring' lecture topic for that joke though for the far-far future when I get to teach in person again. Normally I'd joke about logistics here, but you guys tend to like those posts too...
