To be clear, I'm not surprised leftists *themselves* like the French Revolution, just that they often seem to think everybody does.

See, I am sort of surprised they do? Because it didn't actually result in positive change. It traded one oppressive, militaristic monarchy for another, different, oppressive and *more* militaristic monarchy, which had to removed by outside intervention.
