Yeah, more than a little confused by the number who seem to think the French Rev was an unalloyed good or is perceived as such. I keep wondering if they're just not aware that the French Rev. did not result in the Third Republic. Which you can tell...because it's the third one.

To be clear, I'm not surprised leftists *themselves* like the French Revolution, just that they often seem to think everybody does.

See, I am sort of surprised they do? Because it didn't actually result in positive change. It traded one oppressive, militaristic monarchy for another, different, oppressive and *more* militaristic monarchy, which had to removed by outside intervention.
