I will say a handful is the most I've ever seen, extremely confused by all the replies to this that suggest dozens of walkouts is not unusual. I have been to like a thousand movies in two totally different parts of the country and never seen this in my life

I don't think I've ever noticed walkouts, but I don't go to many movies and even fewer really experimental films. But the showings of Battle of Five Armies and Rise of Skywalker I went to both had the same deep disappointment vibe after the credits rolled.

No kidding. I keep thinking I should do a Christmas blog-take on RoS or the Bo5A like I did with Last Jedi, but I just can't work up to put myself through either film again. At least with tLJ, I could approach it from an appreciation of the concept and mourn just the execution.

In both cases, you could tell there were folks who had basically gone to see the movie with their family as a 'treat' to their fan-spouse/friend/child. It was the feeling of an entire room of people whose birthday gifts had catastrophically misfired.
