To be clear - I'm an adjunct too. This is my view from the inside of that system, watching colleagues who came up through grad school with me burn out or be forced out of teaching by the bad work conditions, folks who were good teachers.

I sympathized with that tweet out of personal experience. It isn't that I don't work at my craft or give everything I have to my courses, I do, but teaching a lot of classes at multiple institutions leaves me stretched thin and causes corners to get cut despite best intentions.
