Teaching this semester, I was glad that I had the opportunity to go fully online/synchronous. It's hard to connect to students via zoom, but at least if they're all on zoom I can see some faces and see if they're understanding - put a grid of student faces on the second monitor.

Mostly students ask questions via the zoom chat. I know other professors find that really cumbersome - they can't watch the chat and teach at the same time - but I'm an old MMO-player. I can lecture and watch a chat and keep the powerpoint and remember my DPS rotation.

Ahhh, thank you! Are you familiar with the platform Discord at all? I've been surprised it hasn't taken off more considering how much more secure and enduring it is, with servers working very well as a digital meeting/classroom space.
