Standing alone, it's one of these bits that treats pointing out the existence of the "problem of evil" as a mic-drop moment...but monotheistic religions have been addressing that problem in a lot more depth since at least the Book of Job (c. 6th cent, maybe?).

It really has to be contextualised as what it is: him wanting to beat the shit out of his god for killing Ms. Landingham (car crash). Recontextualised, it's his understandably angry and human response to the violent and mean death of someone close to him.
