I'm not sure how $141K got calculated. It's possible he averaged for only full professors and included the sciences (professors in business/law/STEM generally get paid more). Oh wow. That's...that's a pretty big mistake. For those playing along at home (not everyone being familiar w/ academic ranks), in a healthy department that is making new hires to replace departures, full professors are a minority of the tenure-track (not even counting non-TT).
