For me the maybe more interesting counter-factual is "Hirtius and/or Pansa survive Mutina." That means the Senate has an army, Octavian pretty much doesn't - consequently the Liberatores probably win. Then it becomes a question - Cicero, Brutus, Cassius...

This sounds like a really awesome ACOUP post in the making, tbh. Maybe tie in the historian's take on alt-hist, and/or how we evaluate the importance of individuals given that controlled trials are impossible.
