Or I think, the other reasonable option: we didn't do the sacrifices of keeping bars/restaurants closed so that we might more safely put teachers on the front lines, asking them to take risks for their students. Instead, we're asking them to walk into a hurricane to no purpose.
Like - if there was a stronger, more legally enforced masking push, if more places were closed and you went to teachers and said "look, we need you to do this for the kids, you're the heroes now" I think most teachers would do it without complaint. But we didn't do that.
