Good, in as much as it is based on a real set of speeches (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_S._Patton%27s_speech_to_the_Third_Army …), bad in as much as Patton's exemplary profanity is largely removed. Also, I find myself less fond of Patton, and more of Ike, as time goes on and my thinking on war matures...
patton's diary entry for that speech was 'as in all my talks I stressed fighting and killing' my ww2 vet grandfather loved patton, I think he was a palatable leader to people who were slogging on the ground not surprised the reality is subtler
He seems like a more competent version of MacArthur. How good exactly, I'll leave to the experts, but he seemed to have a talent for logistics, at least - just zero talent for the diplomatic side of the job, which turns out to be a real thing.
