Yes, I should note that coming to
@UNChistory everyone was quite open that it typically took longer. But I have seen a lot of other programs be a lot less open, and I don't get the impression their completion times are any quicker.

I completed the UNC program in five years, but when added to doing the MA at UH-Manoa, it took me a total of seven years.

I came in with my MA also and am still impressed you got out in just five years. I was pretty happy to manage six

My brother in law did his AI computer science PhD in 9 years, and that was with a head start on the tech he conceived as the basis 20 years ago. And he still had to correct his daughter’s teacher at conference when the man called him “Mr.”
