I'm absolutely in love with these. Do you have any interest in doing Kingdom of Heaven at any point? It's one of my favorite movies and it occupies a semi-realistic space that I think you would have a lot of fun with.

P.S. If you do, it has to be the director's cut. Totally different movie.

I read this and thought of this book - wonder if you've seen it? It goes into a lot of detail about how they decided on the 'look' for each faction, including arms and armour etc https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lord-Rings-Art-Two-Towers/dp/0618331301 …

Would the fighting in the Deep make better sense if the Elves charged from the wall? Would let them get past pikes. And mostly abandoning the wall would let Uruks scale it in numbers, making Elves fall back over time.
-
I mean, the fighting in the Deep would make the most sense if there were no Elves there, but Eomer leading the Rohirrim, who regroup into a shield wall after the blast and retreat into the caves with Gimli. I'm only half joking - introducing Elves causes all sorts of problems...

Great read! One minor nitpick: When Aragorn tells Haleth, "This is a good sword," right after holding it up in front of the camera and clearly showing it was NOT good, the point seemed pretty clear to me: Haleth was afraid, and Aragorn wanted to give him courage.

This got raised in comments. This is a film-only scene. If Jackson thinks Aragorn is going to lie to this kid, he has catastrophically misunderstood Aragorn's character. If he thinks Aragorn doesn't know a good sword, he has catastrophically misunderstood Aragorn's character.
