I think anyone who reads the blog probably knows what I'm going to say, but: Calling in elements of the military to deal with civil protest and civil unrest is a bad idea that is likely to lead to more violence, not less. 1/16

It's bad for military morale to be used as mere policemen.
It is. And in the long-term, that negative impact in morale tends to express itself as discipline problems which in turn leads to more damage in the civ-mil relationship, which leads to escalating tensions and more violence. It's a bad road to walk down, for sure.
