In my limited experience I can tell you grunts prefer armor as light as humanly possible. In most cases we prefer mobility to coverage because mobility is usually a far better source of security in a fight. Plate carriers > IBA/IOTV, etc.
Yeah, I am absolutely addressing weight and mobility as well. Clearly a very important thing. Just looking for data on psychological effects of wearing armor, if it exists.
I’m not entirely sure where that data would come from. There’s no independent variable platoon out there assaulting with no armor whatsoever...
