I've just discovered your blog, and it's destroyed my ability to get any work done, so kudos. You may get this a lot, I'd love to see a lot of this pulled together into a book aimed at a D&D playing audience. There's a lot of need for it.

I think I'd love to write something like that - a guide to historical worldbuilding, covering economic, social and military systems. But - alas! - for career reasons, it isn't likely to be my first book, or even my second. But some day! Some day!

It also made me wonder - were there thoughts about ‘maintaining cohesiveness’ behind the recruitment of ‘Pals Battalions’ in the First World War? And if so, do you think it did what they hoped it would?
