You are right, humility is the correct posture here - but honestly, I think liberals *want* Trump to be dumpstered so badly that he cannot possibly be so long as Owning The Libs remains an animating force on the right
That's true, but at the same time, that kind of ground can shift fast if the Memory of Trump becomes a liability. You could see a durable defense of his record - or suddenly everyone on the right reinvents themselves as a secret NeverTrumper and memory-holes the entire thing.
