There’s a lot of Twitter sentiment telling people they don’t have to be productive now. Agreed, but for me productivity is a coping strategy for depression/anxiety. Being productive generates hope. It is also okay to drive yourself to distraction with work if that’s what you need

I’m in a similar place. My writing has slowed somewhat because online teaching takes more time and I was teaching a lot already, but writing and catching up on scholarship are coping mechanisms.
