I think one failure of our national COVID-19 response is the lack of a call to greater shared sacrifice. Something like pandemic bonds to fund unemployment relief, medical supplies, etc could give Americans who want to do something and don't know what something they could. 1/3
Feeling that we're all striving together, that you've pitched in and given what you could would in turn make the lockdowns & social distancing more bearable. And, quite frankly, it would give the elites and the celebs a chance to put their money where their mouths are. 2/3
Even if the money raised was trivial compared to the gov't spending, I think it'd mean a lot for morale.
