Now I am suddenly curious to know if eating steaks well-done correlates with socio-economic class.
I think it does here because "good taste" as a signifier almost always has an implicit class dimension, but also, if you'd ever ordered a medium rare steak at like a Shoney's you would not have to ask this question.
That's fair. At less expensive places, I do tend to back up to medium or medium well out of a sense of caution, so that makes sense. I'd read the billboard as a gender-critique though, rather than a class one, where overcooked steak is insufficiently manly. Could be both.
