So - not a China expert. But I find it hard to believe that PRC has put two cities (Huanggang and Wuhan) on lockdown over a disease that has only infected, AFAWK. 600 people, and killed 17. It seems to me like the damage is worse than is being said. @BeijingPalmer - thoughts?

to be honest this is my feeling too, the numbers are probably worse than the public ones.
Sad and worrying. I am no fan of the PRC government, but no one deserves an epidemic, and so I had hoped it wouldn't be serious. But each city lockdown makes it seem more serious. Thanks for the fact-check, I didn't want to speculate with no expertise!
