Is it not also a label applied due to common language? Classical Greeks fought each other, but saw a common ethnicity rooted in ritual and language. Don't both apply to "Mycenaean" sites? (honestly asking)

How would we assess the limits of palatial territory? Ofc, we know where most of the palaces are, but how do we assess their chora? Thinking, most Gauls didn't live in oppida, but our lit. sources do suggest broad similarities in political org (along w/ lots of local variation)
