I'm planning this series to run four parts; that might expand as we go along. Goal is not to talk about *everything*, but laying a (very general) theoretical foundation about religious practice we can refer back to later in talking about specific polytheistic systems.
Silly question: is there a way to coherently medievalize polytheism without turning it into historical medieval monotheism?
By which I mean more emphasis on orthodoxy, replacement of sacrifice by prayer, some degree of temple-state separation, etc.
